“On Dec. 19, the CUB SCOUTS of Seaside’s PACK 540 were rewarded for all of their hard work during 2009,” LAURIE KAUTZ wrote to the Ear. “They attended a pack Christmas party at the SEASIDE ELKS LODGE. As the party started they were told they would be working on some craft projects and then eating lunch, but then the sound of bells could be heard in the hallway. All of a sudden SANTA AND MRS. CLAUS came through the door. The scouts were very excited. They each had a chance to sit on Santa’s lap. And what better present could Santa bring for a Scout than a pinewood derby car kit?”

“The Scouts and their families have put a lot of effort into scouting this year, and really deserved a great treat,” Kautz added. “Along the way they learned a lot of great skills as well as how to be good citizens. Without the support of our community, our scouting program would not be so successful.”
