GEARHART – The Clatsop County Genealogical Society will sponsor a Beginning Genealogy Workshop at 10 a.m. Oct. 10 at McMenamins Sandtrap Restaurant at the Gearhart Links, 1157 N. Marion Ave. in Gearhart. Members of CCGS will discuss Web sites and genealogy software and give advice as to where and how to start a search for ancestors. There is no charge for this event.

A no host lunch break at McMenamins is planned. After lunch, members will meet with participants one-on-one to help them get started with their research. The group will also distribute some of the basic forms used by genealogists.
