Wizard crew is coming to Astoria

Did you know that some of the CREW MEMBERS OF THE FISHING VESSEL WIZARD, as shown on Discovery Channel’s TV series “DEADLIEST CATCH,” are coming to Astoria as featured celebrities of the PACIFIC COMMERCIAL FISHERMEN’S FESTIVAL Sept. 19 and 20? It’s true. Pictured above, the Wizard crew, in need of defrosting.

They will be flown in by SeaPort Airlines, stay at the Best Western Lincoln Inn and be escorted around town by the North Coast Limo Service. And here’s where you can get in on the fun: Raffle tickets are being sold as a fundraiser to give one lucky “Deadliest Catch” fan a ride in the limousine with the Wizard crew from the Astoria Airport to the Festival.

Tickets are $10 each and will go on sale Saturday at the Street Party fundraiser for the Festival taking place at the Astoria Event Center. The fundraiser begins at 6:30 p.m. and features three live bands and quirky contests which include a sea lion barking contest, crab pot stacking and a farmed-fish slapping competition.
