Goodwill Industries facility planned for Warrenton business hub

Warrenton will eventually see a new Goodwill Industries store, to be built adjacent to the new Costco facility going up near Home Depot on U.S. Highway 101.

Peter Collins, director of operations for Goodwill Industries of the Columbia Willamette, said Goodwill is purchasing a parcel of property and will soon close the deal. But don’t expect to see a store built anytime soon.

“We have no date set yet,” Collins said in reference to planned construction of a new 25,000 sq. ft. building.

He said that while demand has increased for Goodwill items in Clatsop County, donations are way down, a symptom of the difficult economy.

Collins said it’s likely the project will begin next year.
