Couple goes Goonie over gore

Another little showbiz tidbit: Jaeson Koszarsky of State College, Pa., is a true fan of “The Goonies” and Astoria. In 2002, he and his wife, Jennifer, renewed their wedding vows in the Goonie house, with Sean Astin as a witness. But this time, Jaeson wrote to the Ear about another movie … a zombie opus the couple have been working on, “Gula the Movie” (www.gulathemovie.com).
“Production on Gula marches forward. Up until now, we’ve just been assisting crew behind the scenes. From time to time, they’ll recruit crew members to fill in as extras,” Koszarsky wrote. “Our number came up this past weekend. We moved in front of the cameras as a pair of zombies. Initially, it was just going to be some distant shots of us stumbling about in the woods then getting shot. Light on the make-up.
“Then they decided on gorier close-ups and exploding gray matter resulting in extra layers of slime. It was fun, but very messy and sticky. The smell of their special exploding goop was awful.” Argh!
