Locals and passersby alike now have a new dining option in Netarts. Three Capes Café officially opened in early February, serving fresh, local food.

Kendra Hall and Debbie Sasse opened the café after the previous business in the building, Rachel’s Restaurant, closed.

“We felt there has always been a need in Netarts,” Hall said of the owners’ decision to run a café.

Upon moving in, some minor facelifts were needed.

“The building was dated, and we brought in some new equipment,” Hall noted.

Prior to moving to Netarts in 2000, Hall lived in Salt Lake City, where she owned a nightclub. She was also the owner of Whiskey Creek Café in Netarts.

“I’ve just been resting the past couple years and taking it easy,” Hall said. “That’s when a real estate broker called me and asked if I wanted to look at the space.”

Hall said the knowledge she gained from running Whiskey Creek has been beneficial to her involvement at Three Capes.

“We serve a lot of the same food as [the Whiskey Creek did]. It helps to know all the vendors and have business relationships with them already,” Hall said.

Three Capes Café serves a variety of foods made mostly from local products. Hall said many of their ingredients come from the Tillamook Farmers Market.

Some customer favorites include the cafe’s salads, such as the Cobb Salad and the Vegetarian Reuben.

Soon, the owners want to bring in more equipment for the business, including a walk-in cooler and an icemaker, and expand the menu.

Hall said the locals have embraced the restaurant, and they already have some regulars.

“It’s been awesome – I never realized I had so many fans,” she joked.
