ILWACO, Wash. – Democrat Bud Cuffel held onto his position on the Pacific County Commission. He garnered 5,250 votes to Independent challenger Ray Bowman’s 3,468 in Tuesday’s election.

In the other contested race, Michael Swanson, a local real estate agent, defeated retired Public Utility District worker Bruce Barker for a seat on the PUD board.

For the record, Pacific County supported Barack Obama with 5,534 votes to 3,989 for John McCain.
