Debbie Twombly, normally a mild-mannered teacher, underwent a transformation Sept. 19, which is International Talk Like a Pirate Day, in case you didn’t know, and sent this message to the Ear:
“‘Tis Capt. Twombly and her motley crew, the Pirates of the Columbia, pictured right on the banks of the Columbia River in Astoria, Oregon. These third grade scalawags from Astor School spent the day doing pirate math and gabberin’ like a band o’ wastrels. As the sun was becoming low in the sky, they weighed anchor to embark on large yellow vessels, all agreeing, ‘It’s a Pirate’s Life for Me!'” Avast, me hearties!
