D.B. Lewis and Cindy Yingst opened the Warrenton UPS Store in September 2006. Nearly two years later, the owners are planning to open a second store in Tillamook, to be located at 2230 Main Ave. North.
The 1,169 sq. ft. Tillamook store will feature twice as much retail space as the Warrenton store. It will offer the same services as their current store, including packaging services, digital printing and postal service.
Lewis and Yingst debated the location of the store, also considering Seaside and the Long Beach Peninsula. Tillamook was chosen partially because it would cater to a new group of customers and wouldn’t draw from their current customer base.
“We hit upon Tillamook because the demographics are really good. Most people who live in Tillamook work in Tillamook. The household income is also slightly above that of here,” Yingst said.
The owners are hoping the new store will have as much success as the Warrenton store, which had the biggest first day sales in Oregon and was consistently ranked number one in packaging sales in Oregon and SW Washington. The opening of the new UPS Store is slated for late September.
