Astoria Fishermen name Gohr as volleyball coach

The Astoria High School Athletic Department has announced the hiring of Eric Gohr as the new varsity volleyball coach. Gohr replaces Angee Hunt, who resigned last November.

Gohr is currently teaching physical education at Lewis and Clark and Gray Elementary schools. He attended college at Central Washington University.

Gohr has coached basketball in Ellensburg, Wash., as well as in the Seaside School District. For the past three years he has coached volleyball as well as boys and girls basketball at Astoria Middle School.

According to AHS Athletic Director Howard Rub, “I know coach Gohr is looking forward to this opportunity to work with the student-athletes at Astoria High School. He will help us continue to set high expectations for our players as students, citizens, and competitors. I am very excited to see coach Gohr join us at the varsity level.”
