Wedding: Moore – Spreen

Desiree Moore, of St. Helens, daughter of Roxanna and Ken Nelson and Roger Moore, all of Astoria, exchanged wedding vows with Justin Spreen, of St. Helens, June 30, 2007, on the Columbia River Front Patio at the Holiday Inn Express in Astoria. The groom is the son of Cindy Coy of Astoria.

The bride was given in marriage by her father and stepfather. Judge Cindee Matyas performed the ceremony.

The bride wore a white, strapless Cinderella-style ball gown with a beaded satin bodice and full tulle skirt embellished with sparkling beads with a two-tier veil with a scalloped edge and crystal drops. In memory of her great-grandmother, Marna Forseth, the bride wore an heirloom ruby ring. As the ceremony ended, the Astoria Trolley passed by ringing its bell in celebration.

Matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Melissa Myers of Tillamook. Bridesmaids were the bride’s sister, April Nelson, and the groom’s sister, Heather Coy, both of Astoria.

Best man was the groom’s brother, Travis Spreen of Sherwood. Groomsmen were the groom’s brother, Aaron Coy of Astoria, and the bride’s brother, Travis Moore of Warrenton.

The bride graduated from Oregon State University in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in human development with an option in early childhood development. She is a Head Start teacher in St. Helens.

The groom is a 1993 graduate of Warrenton High School. He is an electrician in St. Helens.

A reception was held in the River View Banquet Room at the Holiday Inn Express.

The couple honeymooned hiking and photographing the waterfalls of Oregon and Washington.

The couple live in St. Helens.
