Two Astoria hotels have been featured in the April issue of National Geographic Traveler Magazine.

The Hotel Elliott and the Cannery Pier Hotel are both mentioned in an article entitled, “Stay List: 150 Hotels You’ll Love,” that lists 150 hotels in America that “embrace authenticity, are mindfully green, and are dedicated to giving back to the community.”

The two Astoria establishments are among just four Oregon hotels mentioned in the piece, along with the McMenamins Edgefield in Troutdale and the Sylvia Beach Hotel in Newport.

The Hotel Elliott is described as “a developer’s votive to his hometown,” referring to owner Chester Trabucco’s restoration of the 1920s-era boutique hotel.

The Columbia River waterfront Cannery Pier Hotel is lauded for its early 20th century fish cannery roots and regional art.
