Letter: Disenchantment

I had jotted down this note: Is there a way to impeach a county commissioner? If so, how does one begin the proceedings. Before I could type it, the next day’s paper arrived with Richard Lee’s recall attempt announced (“Richard Lee faces recall,” The Daily Astorian, Jan. 23).

The alacrity of county citizens to sign the petition showed that I wasn’t the only one disenchanted with some of Lee’s rather disturbing actions. His letter of innocence of anything untoward was particularly interesting.

I then began to wonder if the slide our district attorney is on is really because of economics or had it been intentionally greased to insult and hopefully drive an alert and overly competent district attorney from the county.
