Letter: Let there be light

Another person has been hit in the crosswalk between Suomi Hall and the Finnish Meat Market building trying to get across West Marine Drive.

Fifteen months ago, the Oregon Department of Transportation took down the yellow lights and signs that hung across West Marine Drive, which were hard to see and most people ignored, and put up new bright lights so folks trying to get across the street had a fighting chance.

Well, we do not have any lights now. A new manager has come on, and a new maintenance person has come on, and they do not know the plan we were promised.

Please, let’s get a bright light over that crosswalk. We do not want any more people hurt or killed trying to cross the street in Uniontown.
