Douglas Charles Goss, 72, of Seaside, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, in Seaside.

He was born March 21, 1935 to William and Mildred Goss, in Watertown, S.D.
The family moved to Milwaukie in 1942. In 1952, he married Lillian Irene Davenport. They divorced in 1978. She preceded him in death.
On July 29, 1978, he married Linda Rae “Dickie” Goss in Reno, Nev. She survives, residing in Seaside.

Mr. Goss owned and operated his own residential and commercial paint company, retiring in 1984. He lived in the Portland area until moving to Gearhart in 1999. In 2005, he moved to Seaside.
He was governor and state golf chairman of the Portland Moose and a member of the American Legion and Elks in Seaside. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, clam digging, garage sales and playing dice and card games in Reno.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Goss is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Marcia and Karl Stephens of Peoria, Ariz., Devannie and Bob Burke of Sandy and Christine and Dean Von Tersch of Fallbrook, Calif.; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Doug and Shelley Goss of Peoria, and Daniel Washam of Seaside; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Fran Goss and David and Kathy Goss, all of Portland; one sister and brother-in-law, Gayle and Vic Kenney of Newberg; his mother-in-law, Nellie Dickie of Seaside; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and James Goss.
A memorial will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Nov. 24 at the Seaside American Legion.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
Neptune Cremation Service was in charge of arrangements.
