OTTAWA (CIS) – University of Lethbridge rugby player Brittany Orr and Trinity Western University soccer player Nathan Pogue are the Canadian Interuniversity Sport female and male athletes of the week for the period ending Nov. 4, 2007.

Pogue, a third-year history student from Seaside, Oregon claims the honour on the men’s after scoring four goals in two outings at the Canada West men’s soccer Final Four, including both game winners, to lead the Spartans to their third straight conference banner. The 20-year-old forward, who led Canada West in scoring in the regular season with 10 goals, had all three TWU markers in a 3-0 semi-final win over defending national champion Alberta and found the back of the net in the 97th minute in a 2-1 overtime win over UBC in the title match. The Spartans aim for their first national crown this weekend in Vancouver (Nov. 8-11) after capturing CIS silver and bronze the past two years.
