Obituaries: Charles Thomas Finneymore

Charles Thomas Finneymore, 93, of Astoria, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, in Astoria.
He was born Sept. 26, 1914, in London, to Charles Thomas and Margaret (King) Finneymore.
He attended schools in both London and Astoria.
In May 1928, he married Myrtle Twila Kentrat in Vancouver, Wash. She preceded him in death May 5, 1982.
Mr. Finneymore worked in lumber mills and seafood canneries in Clatsop County, retiring in 1976.
Family members said his hobbies included fishing, duck hunting, claming, bowling and canning and smoking fish for family and friends. He enjoyed many happy times at his boat house in Knappa.
Mr. Finneymore is survived by three daughters Carol Arthur and her husband, Charles, Susan Pritchard and her husband, Gary, and Janice O’Brien and her companion, Wade Larson, all of Astoria; four grandsons and spouses, Tom and Tina Arthur and Pat & Vickie O’Brien, all of Astoria, Tony Arthur of California and Michael and Katie Pritchard of Knappa; two granddaughters and spouses, Michelle and Mike Rock of Salem and Tania and John Hellingson of Astoria; and a sister, Daisy Hendrickson of Astoria.
A memorial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Caldwell’s Luce-Layton Mortuary.
A private interment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Astoria.
