Community Hymn Sing Set for October 14

CANNON BEACH – The dynamic sound of a trumpet will herald the start of the Community Hymn Sing at 7 p.m., Oct. 14, at Community Presbyterian Church. “God of Our Fathers”, which calls for trumpet fanfare and interludes, will be the first hymn of the evening. Ron Smiley will play the trumpet. The singing also will be accompanied by both organ and piano.

In order to maximize the hymn-singing experience, most of the hymns to be used will be selected by those who come to participate. The “Classic Hymn
of the Month” will be “O Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go”, written in 1882 by George Matheson. Its story will be presented in a brief paragraph written by the author himself.
