Pamela Clark wrote to the Ear about the 5th annual Christian Surfers of Oregon surfing contest and benefit which was held at Road’s End State Park in Lincoln City June 30 and July 1. The two-day event drew more than 75 competitors and many families.

During the event, which started at 7 a.m. Saturday and concluded at 2 p.m. Sunday, waves were in the 2 to 6 foot range. The awards ceremony immediately followed the competition.

In the Women’s Division, first place winner was local surfer Hayley Espelund, pictured right, of Seaside, who won a trophy and a bag of goodies. Congratulations!
