In One Ear: AHS racing team is a ‘Class Act’ to follow

The Astoria High School Drag Racing Team went to Woodburn Drag Strip June 3 for the team’s second drag race competition there. Pictured above, from left, Avery Petersen, Anthony Tussing, Nick Faulkner and Brandon Aydt with the plaque they were awarded for making it to the semi-finals in the high school series – despite an engine repair crisis.

They are standing in front of their race car, named “Class Act,” which arrived at the track with the new purple and gold paint job and the addition of “Astoria High School” written on the side of the car. These enterprising boys do all of the maintenance and repair on the car, including that new paint job. Well done!
