Trendwest, owned by Wyndham Vacation Ownership, stepped up construction in Long Beach last month on a new 98-unit WorldMark complex.

The oceanfront timeshare resort project on Sid Snyder Drive saw groundwork begin last summer; contractors are now working on the foundation and installing underground utilities.

Bonnie Bastian, corporate communications manager for Wyndham, said the Peninsula is an ideal setting for the resort.

“Traditionally, our WorldMark owners take shorter, more frequent vacations throughout the year,” she said. “The Long Beach area is a destination within driving distance of many of our owners.”

Walsh Construction Company is the contractor on the project, Ankrom Mosian Associates are the architects.

Wyndham Vacation Ownership offers a points-based timeshare program. Timeshare owners use points like currency to take vacations within the company’s resort system.

Bastion said the company does not have a rendering of the project available to show what the completed building will look like.

Amenities will include a pool, courtyard with beach access, whirlpool spa, and children’s pool.
