Warrenton High School’s graduation is at 7 p.m. June 1 in the high school gym, 1700 S. Main Ave.

ValedictoriansAudrey Dove, 18, is the daughter of Steve Dove. She is an honor student, a member of the National Honor Society, a 2006 Astoria Regatta ambassador and participated in Future Teachers of America. She was a recipient of student banquet honors. She also received a citizenship award. She played volleyball, basketball and softball four years. In basketball, she was named to the girls’ All-League team and was selected to play in the regional All-Star game. She earned six varsity letters. She plans to attend Pacific University, working toward a pre-medicine degree, in hopes of eventually earning a doctorate in pediatrics from Oregon Health and Science University. Scholarships she received include a $10,000 Presidential award from Pacific, a $2,000 Pacesetter scholarship from Pacific, a $1,000 Astoria Regatta scholarship, a $1,000 North Coast Scholarship Foundation award and a $3,000 award from the Masonic Lodge.

Favorite memories from high school were “girls nights” and being able to go to state in volleyball and basketball.

LesleAnn Hayward, 18, is the daughter of Chris and Jeannette Hayward. She is a member of the student council and National Honor Society and participated in Future Teachers of America. Her honors include a citizenship award, Top 10 in her class, and the American Legion Most Outstanding Student award. She lettered four years in volleyball, was named to the First Team All-League and was team captain. She lettered three years in basketball and was team captain. She plans to attend Oregon State University and major in chemistry before going to pharmacy school. She has been awarded a North Coast Scholarship Foundation scholarship, Masonic Honor scholarship and OSU Diversity Award.

Her favorite memory of high school is “Girl’s Night,” as well as the senior volleyball and basketball seasons.

SalutatorianEric Gantenbein, 18, is the son of Dennis and Sherry Gantenbein. He is senior class president, a member of the National Honor Society and student council and a four-year recipient of Gateway Masonic Lodge Honors. His honors also include a citizenship award.

He played varsity football, basketball and baseball all four years of high school. He was named to the first team All-League in football and was selected for the Shrine Game. In basketball, he was named to the first team All-League, the second team All-state and participated in the All-Star game. He was named to the first team All-League and third team All-State in baseball. He plans to attend George Fox University, majoring in business and continuing to play baseball. He has received a Duke Scholarship from George Fox for $8,000, and the Dick and Harriet Baldwin Gateway Masonic Lodge Scholarship for $3,000.

Participating in sports and winning the 2003 junior state championship are his fondest memories of high school.
