Sarah Harkness will be the featured speaker at the Astoria United Methodist Women’s salad luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 1076 Franklin Ave.

Harkness is a commissioned missionary with the general board of Global Ministries of the UMC who is currently serving in Oregon and Idaho with the newly created Hispanic/Latino Ministry Training Institute. She has a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and linguistics from Portland State University, and is certified to teach English as a Second Language.
