Veterinarian joins Oregon’s Animal Welfare Council

WARRENTON – Veterinarian Brad Pope has recently joined the Oregon Veterinary Medical Association’s Animal Welfare Council, which is in charge of gathering, studying, interpreting and reviewing relevant information on animal welfare issues of importance to the veterinary profession. The council also develops and recommends position statements for the OVMA board’s consideration.

In 2002 Pope was awarded the OVMA Animal Welfare award for demonstrating outstanding professionalism and dedication with respect to animal welfare issues.
A 1980 graduate of Colorado State University, Pope practiced in Kodiak, Alaska, for eight years until he purchased Bayshore Animal Hospital in 1988.
