The Ear hears the Evergreen Investors Group of Warrenton was named a top investment club in Oregon in the 2006 Value Line Awards competition and BetterInvesting’s annual investment club survey.

“These awards are evidence that investment clubs can perform well over time in any economy,” says Dick Holthaus, chairman of BetterInvesting.

The club’s portfolio was evaluated and compared with performances of the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500, as well as the performance of other BetterInvesting investment clubs.

The judges also considered the length of time the club had been in existence, the consistency of its rates of return over time, its portfolio diversity, and the results of individual stock selections.
