Obitauries: Thomas Harold Richter

Thomas Harold Richter, 64, of Ocean Park, Wash., died Friday, Nov. 17, 2006, in Portland.
The son of Harold G. and Irene Richter, he was born Jan. 7, 1942, in Milwaukee, Wis. His mother survives, residing in Wisconsin. His father preceded him in death.
Mr. Richter grew up and attended schools in Wisconsin.
On Aug. 27, 1994, he married Suzy Anderson. She survives, residing in Ocean Park.
Mr. Richter was a carpenter his entire life. He started his career in Wisconsin and continued while living in California, Oregon and then in Washington. He moved to the Long Beach (Wash.) Peninsula with R & R Contractors in 1991.
A very active member of the Eagles in Ocean Park, he was currently serving as president for a third term. He was an active Eagles member in Oregon as well, and was also a member of the Astoria Moose Lodge No. 408. He held many state appointments in both Oregon and Washington.
Family members said he enjoyed traveling, visiting other Eagle Aeries, playing pool, bowling, doing yard work and puttering around.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by stepsons Dean Dobson of Portland, Dale Dobson of Ocean Park, Glen Porter of Ontario and Cary Porter of Vancouver, Wash.; a daughter and son-in-law, Victoria and John Scrivner of Fife, Wash.; a sister, Mary Richter of Cardiff, Calif.; a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Cyndia Richter of San Diego; a niece, Addison Richter of San Diego; his chosen children, Jannice and David Pickering, Richard Cork, and Debbie McIntosh all of Ocean Park, and Jack and Joanna Anderson of Centralia, Wash.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial will be held at 1 p.m. Dec. 15 at the Ocean Park Eagles.
