CATHLAMET, Wash. – “Angels” is the theme for the annual St. James Holiday Bazaar, held from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at the St. James Family Center in Cathlamet, Wash.
Angel figures and ornaments will be for sale, along with a wide variety of decorative and gift items, many of them handmade, from regional vendors. Some regulars, such as Friendship Farms lingonberry products, will be back, but new booths will include jewelry, books, collectibles and of course, angels.
A large bake sale will feature Scandinavian treats and traditional English fruitcakes. Homemade soups, salads, biscuits and cornbread will be served all day. In keeping with the theme, desserts will be angel food cake – or devils food cake, if you prefer.
A special exhibition, “A Multitude of Angels,” will showcase different types of angel figures especially loaned for the event. Some will be from foreign countries, some from various artists, some with a family history, all displaying their own vision of an angel.
The event is sponsored by St. James Episcopal Church and the Lower Columbia chapter of Thrivent Lutheran. All proceeds go to the St. James Family Center.
