Chester Trabucco, president of the development company that owns the Hotel Elliott, and who designed the space, said he is pleased with this transition.
“Mike provided a kick-start for us by opening last year, yet it is a natural fit for us to operate the wine bar as a service to our hotel guests and locals alike,” he said.
Trabucco said that while the comfortable ambiance will remain the same, plans are in the works to make the Vintner’s Room more inviting to the local community.

“While we will maintain the list of high-end wines, we’ll expand both our mid-tier wine selection and beer list, and offer specials we believe will appeal to locals,” Trabucco said.
Specials planned include wine tasting during Astoria’s Sunday Market, and a Monday Night Football celebration in conjunction with the Havanna Cigar Room, also located in the lower level of the Hotel Elliott.
Work is currently in progress to open the 12th Street cellar entrance, and added signage to point pedestrians to it.
“It will have a “Cheers” bar affect,” Trabucco said.
Until further notice, hours of operation continue to be from 4p.m. to 10p.m. daily. The Vintner’s Room is located at 357 12th Street. For more information, call the Hotel Elliott at (503) 325-2222, or (877) EST-1924.
