Richard ‘Dickie’ Kenneth Roman

Richard “Dickie” Kenneth Roman, 79, of Los Angeles, died Oct. 22, 2005 in Los Angeles.

He was born May 23, 1926 in Astoria to Charles Arthur and Margaret (Becken) Roman.

Mr. Roman graduated from Astoria High School in 1944. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. In the late 1950s, he moved to California and worked as a real estate agent.

Mr. Roman is survived by two nephews, John Michael Hope of Manhattan Beach, Calif., and Patrick Charles Hope of Portland; six nieces, Helen Margaret “Peg” Clendenin of Alameda, Calif., Sally Grant of Depoe Bay, Shawn A. Hope of Astoria, Merry Carol Hope of Lake Oswego, Molly Hope Elder of Eugene and Hilary Hope Jurgensen of Vancouver, Wash.; six cousins, Steve Dawson of Vancouver, Jan Roman Hinman of Seattle, Van Kennell, Margaret Mary Roman, Stephen Lee Roman and Barb Roman Jenkins, all of Astoria; and several great-nephews and great-nieces.

A memorial was held, with burial in Hollywood Hills, Calif.
