Rick and Sandi Hoagland of Astoria announce the engagement of their daughter, Erica Ann Hoagland of Beaverton, to Sterling Lee Humphrey of Beaverton. He is the son of Denise and Floyd Humphrey of Beaverton.

The bride-to-be is a 1999 graduate of Astoria High School and graduated from Portland State University in 2003 and 2005 with a master’s degree in special education. She is employed by the Beaverton School District as a special education teacher.

The groom-to-be is a 1999 Aloha High School graduate and a 2003 graduate of Portland State University with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He is a medical student at the Oregon Health and Science University School of Medicine.

A wedding is planned for the summer of 2006.
