Astoria residents know their town’s brimming over with good things: history, the arts, small-town friendliness – but it lacks one of life’s little luxuries: a Krispy Kreme donut shop.

Luckily for fans of the melt-in-your-mouth treats, Boy Scout Troop 211 is taking orders for Krispy Kreme donuts to be flown in fresh from Portland Sept. 24. Orders need to be received by Sept. 19 for in-home delivery. Cost is $7 per dozen; call Suzy Sealy at 338-3333 to place your order.

The troop will also have Krispy Kremes for sale Sept. 24 at the Clipper Station, 36 S. Main Ave. in Warrenton, and at the Air Show at the Astoria Airport. The money raised by the donut sale will go toward the boys’ expenses for tropical diving adventures and Space Camp in August 2006.
