Ruth Lee Facchini, 73, of Ocean Park, Wash., died Thursday, Aug. 11, 2005 in Portland.
Mrs. Facchini was born Dec. 22, 1931 in Wilson, W.V. to Earnest and Dora Cullers. She attended Bayard High School in West Virginia and graduated in 1949. She married John Bomboy.
She married Carlo Facchini, a Chief Petty Officer in the U.S.Navy, on Jan. 6, 1962. He survives and resides in Ocean Park.
Mrs. Facchini worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a fingerprint technician in Washington D.C. and later as an office administrator for the sheet metal workers union. When her husband transferred to Honolulu, she became a retail advisor for the submarine base in Pearl Harbor.
Family members said that what she was most proud of and dedicated to was being a stay-at-home mom, and later, her most joyous moments were with her grandchildren. Her hobbies included reading, writing, exercising and her passion for singing, which earned her a scholarship. They also said that her love of fashion and keen sense of style led her to Meier and Frank Company where she remained until retirement.
In 1993, they retired to Ocean Park.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, John David Bomboy, Jr. in Arizona; two daughters, Anita and Dori; two stepchildren, Patrick and Kelly; three siblings, Virginia Barnes, Mary Faulk, and Ben Cullers. Two brothers, Ward and Charles Cullers, preceded her in death.
A memorial and celebration of life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday at the Peninsula Moose Lodge in Ocean Park.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer society.
