The Oregon State University Extension Service offers a field workshop on “Applying Herbicides to Control Woodland Weeds – Calibrating Your Backpack Sprayer,” from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at the Capellen Tree Farm near Astoria.

Controlling weeds on woodlands and tree farms is a perennial challenge. If you use herbicides, achieving safe and appropriate rates of application is essential. This “how-to” workshop for landowners and applicators is taught by Chal Landgren, OSU Extension Forester from Washington/Columbia County.
