At its March 10 meeting, Chapter CR of P.E.O. Sisterhood celebrated Mary Bergstrom’s 60th anniversary of membership in the organization. P.E.O. is a philanthropic education organization promoting higher education opportunities for women by awarding scholarships.

Meanwhile, the Astoria Chapter DL of P.E.O. installed new officers for 2005-06 at its March 10 meeting. Officers for the current term are Helen Lessard, president; Gwynn Bakkensen, vice president; Barbara Barrons, recording secretary; Sonia Pedersen, corresponding secretary; Pat McDonald, treasurer; Jeanne Rich, chaplain; and Marian Soderberg, guard. Delegates to the Oregon State P.E.O. Convention in June are Bakkensen and Jean Sprouse.
