Weddings: Naeve-Bernhard

Naeve-BernhardCarol Naeve of Torrance, Calif., daughter of Ramona Hutson of Warrenton and the late Willard Hutson, exchanged vows with John Bernhard of Torrance, April 17, 2004, at The Old Church in Portland. He is the son of Frank Bernhard of Salt Lake City and Patricia Bernhard of Dubuque, Iowa.
The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Louis Burdett. The Rev. R. Griffen performed the ceremony. The bride wore an ivory lace and cream satin gown with a chapel-length train and ivory veil. She used her great-grandmother’s wedding ring from Finland and wore a six-strand pearl necklace given to her by the groom.
Matron of honor was Darcy Campbell of Kalama, Wash. Bridesmaid was Julie Anderson of Portland.
Best man was the groom’s brother, David Bernhard of Newtown, Conn. Groomsman was Stan Mathews of Marina Del Rey, Calif. Ushers were Brad and Bryan Bernhard, Dave Campbell and Louis Burdett.
The bride is a 1985 graduate of Astoria High School and a 1995 graduate of Pace University, with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and management. She works as the district sales manager for Hunter Douglas in Los Angeles.
The groom is a 1999 graduate of North Texas University with a Ph.D. in physics and material sciences. He works as the photo module manager for International Rectifier in El Segundo, Calif.
A reception followed at the Heathman Hotel in Portland.
The couple honeymooned in the Dominican Republic.
They will make their home in Southern California.
