CHINOOK, Wash. – For 15 years, The Sanctuary Restaurant has welcomed the holiday season by presenting its Christmas Dinner Concert Series. Local professionals Paul Wainamo and Andrea and Cheth Rowe usher in the season with traditional and original Christmas music at 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 3 and 4.
Born and raised on the Long Beach Peninsula, Wainamo has been playing the piano since the age of 3. At 14, he became the youngest member of the Northwest gospel group Message. With Message, Wainamo toured the Northwest, performing in churches, youth groups, prisons and Christian coffeehouses. He recorded a solo vocal album in 1990 of original music, writing and producing the project, leading to a string of performances in Seattle, Portland and the Northwest as well as Colorado, Texas and New York, and in the summer of 1998, a performance on the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line in the heart of the Mediterranean.
In 1993, Wainamo signed as an artist with Incubator Records in Seattle, a Christian-based record company, where he served on staff as an exclusive songwriter for seven years. He now freelances in songwriting and resides in Eagle River, Alaska, where he is worship pastor for Kings Way Assembly of God Church, heading up its music department, songwriting teams, creative design departments, lighting-sound-multimedia teams and drama department. He is working on new material for an upcoming album that will be released under the new Kings Way Music Alaska label, which he was instrumental in creating.
