Business owner, 70Daniel Leo O’Handley, 70, of Astoria, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004 in Astoria.
Mr. O’Handley was born Aug. 4, 1934 in Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia, to Angus and Sarah (Davidson) O’Handley.
He was a cook aboard the CSS Acadian and owned The Captains Galley restaurant in Amenia, N.Y.

Mr. O’Handley is survived by his wife of 39 years, Linda O’Handley of Astoria; four sons, Brian Hugh O’Handley of Oshkosh, Wis., Daniel Angus O’Handley of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Toby Edward O’Handley of Forest Grove and Shawn Peter O’Handley of Portland; two brothers, Hugh and Albert O’Handley both of Amenia; a sister, Teresa MacNeil of Sydney Mines; and four grandchildren, Ian, Elias, Lucas, and Kaeden O’Handley.
A private service was held by Caldwell’s Luce-Layton Mortuary. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
