CANNON BEACH – An artist’s reception at 6:20 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28 heralds the start of a special exhibition of glass art by Gilula and Frankel at Rhodes Stringfellow Fine Art Gallery, 219 N. Hemlock St. The evening will feature a complimentary wine bar and gourmet hors d’oeuvres, with live piano music.

“Energy can take a wide variety of forms, and Gilula and Frankel bring to their art a profound vibrancy and radiance,” stated an announcement for the event. “By exploring and elaborating on the properties and fluidity of glass, the artists interpret nature through this material, creating unique shapes and ‘environmental skins’ for their art.”

Guests are invited to share their designs and ideas with the artists, as commission work is welcome. Some of their works have been created for The Bellagio in Las Vegas and Emeril Lagasse.

The exhibit runs Saturday, Aug. 28 through Tuesday, Aug. 31. For information, call (503) 436-8520.
