Rodeo comes to Long Beach Peninsula July 24

LONG BEACH, Wash. – The Peninsula Saddle Club is hosting the 59th Annual Long Beach Rodeo July 24 and July 25, at 6407 Sandridge Road.

Each day from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. a Cowboy Breakfast is served in the clubhouse.

The Northwest Professional Rodeo starts each day at 1 p.m., with bareback and saddlebronc riding, breakaway and calf roping, team roping, steer wrestling and barrel racing.

Family night starts right after the bull riding Saturday. Children compete in mutton busting, a stick horse race, water race, egg race, bag race, water race, and hangman’s race, ending with the greased pig race. Afterward, there is a free dance with music by the Jackson Andrews Band, who will play acoustic folk music from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Presale tickets are available at Long Beach Pharmacy in Long Beach or Martin’s Feed and Tack in Klipsan Beach. The cost is adults $10; seniors $9; children 6- to 12-years old $5; and 5-years-old and under free. For more details, call (360) 642-7301.
