Oysterville vespers service slated
Published 5:00 pm Thursday, June 24, 2004
Father Blaine Hammond of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Seaview, Wash., will officiate at the vespers service in the church in Oysterville, Wash., at 3 p.m. Sunday. Performing for the first time at a vespers service will be violinist, Jeffrey Reynolds. He will perform classical chamber music. Reynolds usually performs with Con Amici, a six member string ensemble.
The congregation will join in the singing of favorite hymns accompanied by the pump organ, played by Suzanne Knutzen.
This is the third of the 2004 summer series of ecumenical vespers services, which are sponsored by the Oysterville Restoration Foundation and endorsed by the Long Beach Peninsula Church Council. There is no charge and everyone is welcome to attend. The donations received from the offering baskets will help fund the upkeep and general maintenance of the historic Victorian church and the antiquate pump organ.
