ONGOING AND UPCOMING

The annual Clatsop County Master Gardener Spring Garden Seminar takes place Saturday, April 17, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Clatsop County Fairgrounds and Expo Center. Besides sessions on garden design and color with keynote speaker Lucy Hardiman, classes include color in the garden, therapeutic gardening, finding user-friendly tools, planning for wildlife in the garden and working with containers. Other activities during the day include a plant sale, vendor booths and a basket raffle. The fee is $15 until April 9, and $18 afterwards. For information, call (503) 325-8573.

If you’re catching a flight at Portland International Airport, check out a special celebration display of Oregon’s Portland Classical Chinese Garden, the Japanese Garden, the International Rose Test Garden and the Oregon Garden. Ongoing through the month.

Through April 20, the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm holds its Tulip Fest. Admission is free to the fest on weekdays – weekends mean a per vehicle charge.
