Miracle on Wheels offers power wheelchairs to seniors

Published 4:00 pm Thursday, March 18, 2004

Miracle on Wheels makes power wheelchairs available to non-ambulatory senior citizens, 65 years old and older. Electric wheelchairs are provided to those who cannot walk and cannot self-propel a manual wheelchair in their home and who meet the additional qualifications of the program. This service may also be available to the permanently disabled of any age.

No deposit is required or out-of-pocket expenses accrued if applicants qualify.

Call (800) 749-8778 or visit (www.durablemedical.com) for details about the program.

The Miracle on Wheels program’s goal is to develop public awareness of assistance options that allow senior citizens, as well as the permanently disabled, to remain independent in their own homes. Without this awareness and assistance, families may prematurely choose a nursing home, or make unnecessary retail purchases on power mobility equipment.
