Registration is open for spring semester classes in Linfield College’s adult degree program and will continue through Feb. 6. The Linfield program offers working adults the chance to complete a bachelor’s degree or certificate with evening, weekend, guided study and online classes.

Class schedules are available online at

(www.linfield.edu/dce) or from Joanne DeMay, the local academic advisor for Linfield’s Division of Continuing Education. She can be reached at (800)452-4176, (503) 883-2446 or jdemay@linfield.edu. DeMay can meet with local residents at Clatsop Community College. Contact her for registration or general program information.

Financial aid is available, and many adult students can earn college credit for prior learning. Majors available are accounting, arts and humanities, business information systems, international business management, and social and behavioral sciences. An online bachelor of science in nursing is open to registered nurses (RNs). Both accounting and management majors can be completed entirely online. Some majors require courses that are only available online or in certain locations.

People who have already earned a degree and are interested in additional education in a particular field or those who are not yet ready to commit to a four-year degree program might want to consider a certificate in accounting (post-baccalaureate only), human resource management, marketing or computer information systems.

Access to an advisor is a key factor in student success, according to Kate Bemis, the director of Linfield’s Division of Continuing Education.

Linfield College, through the Division of Continuing Education, offers similar programs in Albany, Bend, Coos Bay, Eugene, McMinnville, Portland and Salem.
