Monday Mike features Seattle area poet M. Anne Sweet at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 11 at the River Theater, 230 W. Marine Drive.

A second printing of her poetry collection, “Nailed to the Sky,” is due out in 2003 from Gazoobi Tales Publishing. Her poetry has appeared in “The Seattle Five Plus One: Poetry” (Pig Iron Press, 1995), as well as numerous print and online journals. She has been working on music-poetry collaborations with three percussionists. In May 2003, she won the Washington Poets Association Bart Baxter Poetry in Performance award.

Sweet’s poetry has been described as courageous, original, rich in the complexity of the language and haunting imagery. Cost is $1 donation.
