New boat ramp in use at Hammond Marina

The crumbling asphalt ramp that used to greet anglers at the Hammond Marina has been replaced with a new concrete one.
Ron Rhodehamel, facilities program manager for the Oregon State Marine Board said the ramp was built just in time for this summer’s salmon fishery at the mouth of the Columbia River. The new ramp is 136 feet long and 99.5 feet wide.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Sport Fish Restoration Funds administered by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, Oregon State Marine Board and the City of Warrenton all helped cover the $184,230 price of the new ramp.
While open and in use already, the ramp will receive its
official dedication in a ceremony today.
