WARRENTON – A door received some minor damage and an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen from the Warrenton City Hall in a burglary during the weekend.

City Manager Scott Derickson said a door to the building at 225 S. Main Ave. was found damaged Monday morning and he didn’t have a guess as to when exactly the burglary may have occurred. He said he couldn’t release too much information on the incident for fear of compromising the investigation under way by the Warrenton Police department.

Derickson confirmed there is an alarm on the building, which is shared by Warrenton’s police and fire departments, but said he couldn’t say if the alarm had been on during the time of the burglary or if it had been activated.
