Registered nurse, 88Evelyn Victoria Erickson Mullins, 88, of Gresham, died Friday, April 11, 2003, in Gresham.
Mrs. Mullins was born Sept. 18, 1914, in Portland, to Erick M. and Agnes I. Charlston Erickson.
On April 5, 1949, she married James Daryl Mullins in Albuquerque, N.M. He survives, residing in Gresham.

Mrs. Mullins graduated from Grant High School in Portland in 1932. She then trained at Emanuel Hospital Nursing School and became a registered nurse. She worked at the Oregon State Crime Laboratory in Portland before joining the U.S. Army in 1943. She served with the 47th General Hospital Company in New Guinea, rising to the rank of First Lieutenant. Upon discharge, she worked at Hanford in Richland, Wash., before moving to Colorado and working at Denver Children’s Hospital. She moved to Astoria with her family in 1965 and worked at Columbia Memorial Hospital until retirement in 1980, when she moved to Gresham. Upon retirement, she earned a college degree and became a member of MENSA.
She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Gresham.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, James Mullins and Grethe Larson of Lake Oswego and Bruce Mullins and Lisa Barton Mullins of Fairview; and six grandchildren, Jennifer Groza, Julie Baumgartner, and Brittany, Kelsey, Andrew and Peter Mullins. A brother, Kenneth Erickson, died earlier.
Memorial service is 1 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Gresham. Private inurnment is at Willamette National Cemetery.
