If you were planning a vacation, wouldn’t you be likely to use the Internet to help find travel arrangements, lodging, things to do and places to eat? That’s the hope of Dana Gunderson, owner of The Cannery Cafe in Astoria.

Her site, developed by Kim Nice and Jim Weaver of freshairtoday.net in Seaside, focuses on the great views from the restaurant. “People don’t have a tendency to read all the garbage on a lot of sites,” Gunderson said. “I wanted to make it pretty visual.” Local customers use the site’s for planning catering events, said Gunderson.

Other pages on the site focus on the cafe’s history, exclusive recipes and links to other coastal sites. Still in the works are more pictures of menu offerings for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
